Overall Purpose of the Role:

RTM represents the “Place” in the classic Marketing 4P’s mix. Over the next few years we aim to transform our RTM structures and systems into a world class organisation. The RTM will spearhead a comprehensive change process that will bring about major improvements to the way we sell, distribute and make available our products to our trade and consumers.

Key Outputs and Responsibilities:


  • Conduct EDS surveys where appropriate and necessary to determine real outlet universe. (Formal externally conducted) (Informal internally conducted).
  • Use suitable extrapolation techniques to estimate outlet universe outside geographies subjected to EDS as well as estimated consumer intensities.
  • Use other sources of information as necessary to inform our view of the outlet universe and consumer intensities.
  • Use data from DMS to identify unserviced, underserviced or poorly serviced areas.

Design / Distributor Management:

  • Use Spatial Excel, and other approved systems to develop optimal sales and distribution mapping.
  • Optimizing design precedes any change intervention.
  • Provide routing expertise for the KD’s to ensure routes are optimized for efficiency and coverage. Including # of drops and average drop size etc.

Distributor Management System

  • Ensure that DMS is fully integrated into working and reporting models at ABL and at KD’s.
  • Ensure on-going DMS information and insights are used as a tool of RTM management to drive continuous improvement in our RTM capability.

Sales Resourcing

  • Based on initial design optimization:
    • Work closely with Route To Market Manager to identify precise sales routes and territories.
    • Work with GCC (and/or local business analyst) to ensure Route Calling Schedules are embedded in SF and BEER audits.
  • Ensure SF is fully integrated into the working and reporting at ABL.

Profile: Education.

  • BSC/BA in Marketing or Commerce

Key attributes and competencies:

  • 3 years’ experience in Sales or Marketing.
  • Strong Spatial and Routing skills.
  • Knowledge of Ghanaian market.
  • Sound commercial & analytical capability.
