ABL HOSTS MARKETING STUDENTS FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION - WINNEBA

8th March, 2019

Accra Brewery Limited (ABL), a proud part of the Anheuser-Busch (ABInBev) family, hosted Marketing students from the University of Education-Winneba (UEW) for a brewery tour as part of its commitment to investing in a Growing World

Mr. Rexford Owusu Okyireh, a Marketing lecturer at the University’s Business School, who accompanied the students, said that they embarked on the tour to understand ABL’s processes and how its gives us an edge over our competitors.

ABL’s Legal & Corporate Affairs Director, Ms. Adwoa Aaba Arthur, who addressed the visitors, mentioned that ABL seeks to be recognised as a company that motivates and supports partners across the country.

She further added that “ABL always looks forward to sharing knowledge relevant to courses offered to students as we continue invest in a Growing World where everyone has the opportunity to improve their livelihood”.

The students were then taken through key processes which included a safety induction, a brewing presentation, and a tour of our packaging lines.

Brewing our Beer

Mr. Wisdom Kofigah, our Quality Assurance Manager, said that ABL’s dedication to quality and consistency since the brewery was established in 1931, has partly contributed to its competitive advantage. He added that ABL’s team of brewing experts uses high quality ingredients, such as maize grits, hops, and barley, to brew beverages under local and international standards to ensure that consumers remain delighted with our products.

Bottling our Beer

At our packaging lines, ABL’s Training Controller, Ms. Georgina Kyei Baffour, also emphasised ABL’s attention to quality when packaging beverages.

She mentioned that every step of the packaging process highlights efficiency and quality. For instance, she explained that the packaging process is fully automated to carry out a number of checks such as washing bottles and inspecting them for imperfections. The automated process also fills the bottles with beer, caps them with crowns, and labels the filled bottles before they are packed into crates for nationwide distribution.

Appreciating the Brewing Process

Mr. Owusu Okyireh was grateful to the Management of ABL for the opportunity to acquire practical knowledge to compliment the theory taught and learnt in school. He said he now expects his students to appreciate the effort that goes into manufacturing any of ABL’s beverages.

A Better World

In addition to our investment in a Growing World, we also invest in a Cleaner World where our natural resources are shared and preserved for the future; and in a Healthier World where every experience with beer is positive.
