ABL HOSTS MEMBERS OF THE GHANA BAR OPERATORS ASSOCIATION (GHABOA) WINNEBA FOR A BREWERY TOUR

19th June, 2018

Accra Brewery Limited (ABL), home to CLUB Lager, Ghana’s quintessential beer; and a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic brands, hosted members of the Ghana Bar Operators Association (GHABOA) Winneba, for a brewery tour.

Mrs. Vida Idan, Secretary of GHABOA, said the Association embarked on the tour to familiarise themselves with new developments within our business, and also to gain knowledge on how they could further enhance their sale of ABL products.

Welcoming the tourists, Ms. Adwoa Aaba Arthur, ABL’s Director of Legal & Corporate Affairs, stated that “we are happy to host such a critical stakeholder group and as a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev (ABInBev), it is our Dream to bring people together for a better world.

She further mentioned that “engaging, motivating and supporting colleagues and partners across the country help us achieve this Dream”.

How we brew our beer from “Grain to Glass”

The first phase of the tour comprised of a “Grain to Glass” presentation, through which we shared how we brew our beer.

Speaking on the history of beer during the presentation, Mr. Wisdom Kofigah, ABL’s Quality Assurance Manager, revealed that the earliest written records on beer go back to Babylon more than 8000 years ago.

Mr. Kofigah also introduced the tourists to the major ingredients we use in brewing our beer; barley, hops, water, yeast, and adjunct grains.

“We are committed to brewing the best beers using the finest, highest quality, natural ingredients. We never compromise on quality”, he remarked.

Packaging our beer

Mr. Ismaila Abdulai, ABL’s Unit Manager, led the visitors on a guided tour of our packaging lines.

Explaining the automated process of beer packaging, Mr. Abdulai said “packaging beer begins when crates and bottles are unpacked from pallets and thoroughly washed”.

However, before bottles are filled with filtered beer from our Bright Beer Tanks, they are inspected for flaws by an Empty Bottle Inspector.

“The filled bottles are crowned with caps and taken through a number of quality checks before packaged for nationwide distribution”, Mr. Abdulai said.

Appreciation to ABL

Mr. Rolland Quainoo, GHABOA’s Central Regional Chairman, expressed his appreciation on behalf of GHABOA, to ABL for our support of the Association over the years.

“We will not let ABL down as we strive to improve sales of ABL products”, Mrs. Idan said.
