ABL’S LEGAL & CORPORATE AFFAIRS DIRECTOR ENGAGES UGBS STUDENTS ON CORPORATE BRANDING

24th October, 2018

Ms. Adwoa Aaba Arthur, Accra Brewery Limited’s (ABL) Legal & Corporate Affairs Director engaged undergraduate students of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) on the theme, “Corporate Branding: The Successful Marketing & Branding Strategies Behind ABL’s Evolution”.

The engagement was part of the School’s Marketing & Entrepreneurship Students Association (MESA) week celebrations.

ABL’s participation in this celebration is part of our commitment to invest in a Growing World, where everyone has the opportunity to improve their livelihood.

Ms. Arthur, during her presentation, remarked that “ABL’s corporate branding is defined by our corporate identity; our value proposition; and our Better World initiatives”. Also, she shared with the students the different aspects of ABL’s corporate branding and added that “we consider our people as our greatest strength and this contributes to our competitive advantage”.

She emphasized that our Dream of bringing people together for a better world clearly distinguishes us from our competitors. Ms. Arthur also answered several questions from the participants, and encouraged them to develop a “curious” attitude in acquiring knowledge and also to cultivate the habit of constantly learning in order to become a valuable asset in any organisation.

Ms. Phoebe Omani-Mensah, a Level 400 Marketing student, said that, “I was very impressed with the knowledge shared, and the presentation provided me with information on the ABL brand I didn’t know of. I also learnt some important lessons on what is expected of me as I prepare to begin my career.”

Also, Mr. Kafui Dey, a professional MC/Moderator was a panel member who gave a presentation on “Personal Branding”.

About MESA

MESA was formed in 2016 by the UGBS’s Department of Marketing & Entrepreneurship to compliment teaching with valuable practical extra-curricular experiences in order to produce graduates with experience in both the theoretical and practical elements of their Degree.

The theme for this year’s MESA Week celebration is “Brand 8”.

ABL donated 30 packs of Beta Malt, its non-alcoholic malt beverage; and 150 CLUB branded t-shirts as sponsors of the programme.
