The Key Purpose of this role is to provide technical and operational oversight and professional safety and fleet management services to ensure the Company operates lawfully, ethically, and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act, Road Transport Act, and Governance Codes (Combined Code) of practice pertaining to Safety and Fleet Management.

This includes alignment with the AB InBev Safety Policy, Corporate Governance standards, and ensuring protection of stakeholder interests through proactive mitigation of safety and fleet risks—both pure and speculative—across the full spectrum of AB InBev operations.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure full compliance with the OHS Act, Road Traffic Act, and all AB InBev safety and fleet governance standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor sustainable fleet standards across sites.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to identify and mitigate operational hazards beyond traditional perimeter controls.
  • Conduct daily inspections of depot fleets to ensure compliance with both legal and company requirements.
  • Report daily on fleet availability, including trucks, trailers, forklifts (FLT), and mobile forklifts (MFLT).
  • Maintain detailed, accurate records and ensure legal compliance documentation, including maintenance job cards, licensing history, and pre-trip inspections.
  • Implement and sustain DPO Fleet and Safety Pillars through DPO Self-Assessments and Zone DPO Audits.
  • Consolidate asset verification in line with the Business Reference Number (BRN) standards.
  • Manage and own master data requisitions and updates for fleet operations.
  • Ensure understanding and application of vehicle-specific maintenance and service requirements across all categories (trucks, trailers, forklifts, and warehouse cleaning equipment).
  • Develop and maintain site safety and fleet standards to minimize losses and ensure compliance with legal and environmental provisions (OHS, Environmental, and COVID Acts).
  • Support the Regional Fleet Manager (RFM) in managing expenditure against the budget (VLC), ensuring monthly latest estimates (LE) align with period phasing (DC).
  • Oversee spare parts management to maintain min/max levels and ensure strict adherence to inventory control processes (including tyres).
  • Enforce workshop safety practices and 5S standards while ensuring maintenance SOPs promote safe operations.
  • Entrench a strong safety culture and drive SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) program execution across all operations.
  • Ensure site procedures and work instructions are maintained, communicated, and adhered to.
  • Accountable for monitoring, auditing, and mitigating safety and fleet-related risks across operations.
  • Ensure end-to-end ownership of Safety standards, governance, and culture across all operational areas.
  • Execute DPO/VPO/LCP means and standards, driving innovation, benchmarking, and process improvement initiatives to achieve sustainable KPIs.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability.
  • People management experience (advantageous).
  • Ability to embed safety culture and promote operational excellence.
  • Business and financial acumen.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and working knowledge of SAP.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Relevant 3-year tertiary degree or diploma.
  • 2–3 years of fleet functional work experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Road Traffic Act, and relevant governance frameworks.
