GHANA DISTRIBUTOR SPECIALIST

LOCATION : ABL GRAPHIC ROAD
DURATION: FULL TIME
DEADLINE: 30TH OCTOBER, 2024


The key purpose of this role is to manage and develop relationships with existing and potential Distributors / DC’s in line with the 3rd party distribution strategy in order to meet distribution targets.

Responsibilities and Expected Standards

Area distribution strategy

  • Distribution strategy and plans are understood for execution
  • Propose and coordinate action plan to correct or continuously improve DC’s distribution execution.
  • Assure Effectiveness and efficiency of DC’s delivery schedule routing
  • Distributors’ logistics infrastructure is aligned with company requirements
  • Monitor & report DC’s fleet conditions and capacity in order to better serve the outlets
  • Competitor strategy in each Distributor’s area collated and communicated
  • Regular audits to ensure correct execution from the DC, regarding distribution standards to achieve high service level.

Distributor efficiency and effectiveness

  • Distributor Management processes in the area implemented
  • Distributors / DC’s understand commercial terms with the company for the benefit of both parties
  • Distributors/ DC’s fully understand deliverables expected
  • Monthly analysis / Quarterly formal reviews of distributor performance and action plan implemented
  • Measure distributor financial performance/profitability
  • Distributors assisted in developing strategies to minimise costs
  • Leverage appropriate credit headroom for shipments and ensure relevant payment plans are communicated and strictly adhered to
  • Coordinate business meetings with Sale’s team/DC to review KPI’s reports, define action plan towards sales volume growth, trade terms initiatives.
  • Coordinate, supervise and support DC’s product availability and containers according to standards from ABL

Business Systems

  • Assist on all DMS activities to the DC. Be the point of contact and solve its issues.
  • Assure DMS usage, quality of usage and Manage reports from DMS to feed the information for weekly and monthly business meetings

Distributors’ Business Development

  • 6 monthly business plan is formulated per Distributor / DC ensuring alignment to Company strategy and improvements in distribution standards 
  • Standards implemented for all 3rd party business partners

Distributor Relationship Management

  • Long term business relationship developed to ensure that the company is the preferred
  • Distributor standards audited bi-annually

Administration

  • Distributor Monthly KPIs should be analysed & reports sent by the 7th day of the new month to line management for approval and then forwarded to respective customers for gap closure and alignment
  • Weekly business meetings with each distributor
  • Quarterly formal reviews are completed

Requirements:

Qualification & Experience

  • Degree in marketing or commerce
  • 3 years experience in Sales or Marketing
  • Knowledge of Ghanaian market
  • Sound commercial & analytical capability
  • Good negotiating and persuasion skills
