The Key Purpose of this role is to lead the Shift based team in the execution of the production plan, executing quality control and analyses, the carrying out of autonomous maintenance tasks and the resolution of production problems.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
OPTIMISE PRODUCTION PERFORMANCE & PROCESSES:
- Co-ordinate and perform scheduled maintenance.
- Monitor production processes.
- Interpret and implement production plan for shift.
- Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Build and foster relationships with customers and preferred suppliers.
PERFORM ADMINISTRATION:
- Ensure application of admin systems and procedures.
- Administer conditions of employment for team members.
- Contribute to self and team development.
- Prepare and control budgets.
FACILITATE TEAM PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING:
- Apply problem solving and decision-making techniques and principles.
- Facilitate team problem solving.
MANAGE HUMAN RESOURCES:
- Develop employees.
- Ensure a healthy industrial relations climate.
- Manage and apply personnel practices

Minimum Requirements:
- Post Matric Tertiary Qualification e.g. National Diploma or equivalent in engineering, N6 Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) studies plus Trade Test qualification
- Familiarity with SAP and Voyager Plant Optimisation (VPO) will be an advantage.
- Experience in a packaging process environment, experience at supervisory level will be an added advantage
- Experience of managing and running a high\-speed packaging line would be highly advantageous
