What an incredible weekend we had at the Eagle National Draught Championship held at the historic Manhyia Palace in Kumasi. This year’s competition, which took place on November 30th, brought together the best draughts players from across ten regions in Ghana. The event was a true testament to community spirit and showcased the essence of Eagle as a brand deeply rooted in local culture.
We were honoured to have HRM Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II grace the event, further demonstrating his support for the growth of draughts in Ghana. His generous cash donation underscores the importance of this game in our communities.
The excitement was palpable as the games extended into December 1st, reflecting the passion and dedication of all participants. Congratulations to our champions:
- 1st Place: Michael Abu National, Ashanti Region
- 2nd Place: Yaw Obeng, Bono Region
- 3rd Place: Evans Koranteng Ortega, Greater Accra Region
- 4th Place: Akwasi Agyei, Central Region
Michael walked away with a trophy, souvenirs from Accra Brewery Ltd, crates of Eagle Lager and Eagle Extra Stout, and a cash prize of GHS 10,000.00! The runners-up also received generous cash prizes and drinks.
