ABL EMPLOYEES WEAR PURPLE TO CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

8th March, 2019

Employees at Accra Brewery Limited (ABL), a proud part of the Anheuser-Busch InBev (ABInBev) family, wore purple outfits to celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD) with the theme, “#BalanceForBetter”.

Purple is the internationally-recognised colour for symbolising women. Furthermore, IWD is a day set aside by countries, corporations, and non-governmental organisations to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women past, present, and future.

ABL, through its People Department and with support from the Legal & Corporate Affairs Department, began its commemoration of IWD on March 1, 2019 by creating awareness of the Day among its employees. This week-long awareness creation will be climaxed on March 8, 2019, when all employees will once again wear outfits with a touch of purple to meet at CLUB 31, ABL’s model bar, for a get-together.

ABL’s Country People Lead, Ms. Antwiwaa Asante, mentioned that “IWD gives the company the opportunity to highlight diversity and inclusion in our company so we can balance the gender scales and fulfil our Dream of bringing people together for a better world”.
