ACCRA BREWERY LIMITED DONATES TOWARDS NATIONAL FARMERS DAY CELEBRATION

7th November, 2018

Accra Brewery Limited (ABL) donated 20 crates of CLUB Premium Lager and 30 packs of its non-alcoholic malt beverage, Beta Malt, towards the 34th National Farmers Day celebration themed, “Agriculture: Moving Ghana Beyond Aid”.

ABL has been an annual sponsor of the National Farmers Day event since its inception and this support reinforces its commitment to investing in a Growing World where everyone has the opportunity to improve their livelihood.

The donation was made to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) through Hon. Dr. Sagre Bambangi, the Deputy Minister in charge of Annual Crops.

During the presentation, ABL’s Sustainability Manager, Mr. Gilbert Ansu-Tachie, said that “as a proud part of Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world’s largest brewer, we seek to be admired for our commitment to improving the lives of more people in our communities, and making a real difference in our society”.

He mentioned that ABL goes beyond its core business of brewing quality, great-tasting beverages, to supporting the farmers we heavily depend on for brewing crops such as maize and cassava.

Hon. Dr. Sagre Bambangi expressed his appreciation to ABL on behalf of MoFA and the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development.

He remarked that “ABL has been with us for over three decades and you have not relented in your effort to support us to motivate our gallant farmers”.

Hon. Dr. Bambangi concluded by urging other corporate entities to support the Ministry towards the National Farmers Day event.

ABL currently brews beverages whose production relies heavily on local raw materials. These brands are Eagle Lager (cassava and maize); Eagle Extra Stout (cassava and maize); CLUB Shandy (maize); and Ghana’s number one selling beer, CLUB Premium Lager (maize).
